Troy Patton lost in his first Major League appearance. The new left hander gave up two home runs. Both given up to Jose Bautista. One in the fourth, and the second in the sixth. Two mistakes left the southpaw with a 'L' on his first game. He took four strike outs with him though. Wade Miller gave up another solo shot in the ninth inning to Josh Phelps.

The Houston Astros couldn't give Patton the run support he needed. They only scored one run in last nights game. Mark Loretta scored in the sixth off of a double play ball hit by Berkman.

I'm usually an optimistic fellow. I'm always looking for the Astros to win a game. Always hoping that they'll get to the playoffs. But at some point in the season, you have to say, "it's over." I will never give up on the Astros. I will always pull for them to win. I'm just saying, it's very unlikely that they can comeback this year.

But they will try. Wandy Rodriguez is looking for another home win today as he goes up agaisnt Tony Armas.

On another note, Jeff Bagwell's number 5 will be retired today.
